The Smoke Signal is entirely student run. This means that in order for the paper to exist, we need students to write articles, students to edit articles, students to take pictures, students to draw cartoons, students to edit pictures, and students to do layout. We are always looking for new writers, photographers, artists, layout assistants, and members. If you are interested in joining the Smoke Signal, contact the teacher advisor or the current editor in chief of the paper.
But why bother doing work in your spare time?
If you are interested in working as a writer, journalist, photographer, artist, or some form of designer, working on the Smoke Signal and having published work during high school is a priceless experience. The Smoke Signal is an incredible extra curricular which will help you to learn and prepare for a future in any career- and it looks great on a resume.
